Guests at Park World Excellence Awards raise money for Make-A-Wish Netherlands

The very best from across the theme park and attractions sector gathered on September 26 at W Amsterdam Hotel to celebrate the success of the past twelve months at the inaugural Park World Excellence Awards.

In addition to providing an opportunity to celebrate the industry’s very best, the ceremony provided guests with an opportunity to give back in the form of a charity fundraiser in aid of Make-A-Wish Netherlands, a charity nominated by sponsor ProSlide. Dedicated to empowering children aged 3-18 with critical illnesses, the charity makes their wishes a reality – whether it is to meet their heroes, become a race car driver or be a queen for the day – providing them with a confidence boost from which they can draw hope, strength and confidence.

The Wish Journey, from the moment of inception to the unforgettable memories afterward, helps to arm children against their illnesses, brings families together and changes the lives of everyone who plays a role in it.

On sponsoring the charity fundraiser Robin Edwards, marketing event specialist at ProSlide commented: “The Make-a-Wish Foundation is about making dreams come true. In fact, they’ve granted magical wishes for more than 450,000 children since 1980. It seemed like a natural fit: all of us in the amusement industry are also in the dream business, bringing magic to life around the world for children of all ages.”

The charity collection saw an astounding sum raised, with donations totaling over €954.
